My corn is making tassels already. I think it's very early for the corn to do that, but, it's alright. I have a couple of farmers I read for and they both asked me if the stored grain should be sold. I usually hate reading on things like that because if I was wrong, it could cost them big money. But, at the end of last Winter and early Spring, the cards read so clear that it would be a kick ass year for crops, perfect rain, perfect weather. That means farmers should sell the contents of their silos because there will be a lot of new grain and they'd get the best price for last years crop right now. I feel good now about saying that..the cards were right. Whew. The farmers are going to have a kick ass year. They deserve it. Farming is not only hard work, but, it's like gambling sometimes. One bad hand and you're fucked. I'm glad no one looks fucked this year. But, the Summer sure isn't over. Still...I think I advised right. The responsibilities of a Tarot reader are crazy, aren't they?

Better to sell and make something in the long run regardless of weather, then to see it sit and rot.
Way early @ tassles! wow
No, it won't rot, it's all dried and stored. It's like a savings account.
that reminds how in high school everyone wanted a summer job tassling corn for like 3-5 weeks in late summer...i wouldn't go do that as i saw how burnt the people got and how their hands were RAW!
Oh, gowd, I tried that as a kid. I got so burned. All field work burned me to a crisp. I liked picking apples and other TREE fruit where you could stay in the shade.
Hpw long did you live in Iowa? And where at?
i lived in clinton---which is basically iowa's nipple...6 blocks from the mississippi river...
was there until i escaped to kent state when i was 19, then returned for summers for a few years and then got my own place in ohio and cut them out...
Ahh, I've been through Clinton. Small world, isn't it?
yes it is!
though it would be trip for you, have you been to galena illinois? most of the town is on the historic register and it is just so quaint...grant lived there before the civil war and before he became president...very historic and has wonderful antique shops....

Never been there. I like Illinois though, Chicago was fun. I think Ill. looks just like Iowa. Southern Ill. looks more like Mo. which is South of me, but, not by much. I think it's more..lush. Iowa is so damn farmed out.
ohio has farms but nothing like iowa....i do NOT miss driving thru a state and smelling cow manure for over half the ride!
misstiajournal,
What part of OH are you from?
I live in MO now, but am from OH.
I've live in the Cleveland area, Akron, and Bowling Green.
