Melons and Zuch's

My favorite vegetable, Zucchini is up. So are the Watermelons and Cantaloupes. I thought I'd planted the melons too early, we had a cold snap, so I figured the seeds froze. So I bought a few Watermelon plants. My seeds came up the same day. Now I have six hills instead of three. But, three diff kinds, which is cool. People say I don't have enough space dug to grow melons. I don't know why, they're a vine, not Godzilla. Can't I kind of train them to behave? Yeah, I know..but, I've grown them before, everyone has. They can grow into the corn if they want. I've seen people do that. Corn on top of melons, or Pumpkins. If people don't think I have any sense with these melons here, they sure don't want to see my Punkin' Patch. Oh, yes, I did.

Thank you! I will try it. I like Zuch in stir fry. Ahhh, apartment gardening. Do you have a balcony or patio?

you can have melons grow up a trellis and then tie sections of nylons to the trellis to support the melons....(melon bras!).....

people who are obsessed with garden spacing bug me!

Pfft at the idea of perfect spacing, I get the feeling you'd have loved my last squished pumkin patch lol.

You'll be glad when all that melon comes in besides delish it freezes really really well (minus rhines.

LOL at Melon bras! Wouldn't it be funny to use real bras? Sexy ones? My punkin patch is next to the brush pile and goes all the way around to the compost heap. I'll try to mow around it for as long as I can. Who cares, right?

I did not know you can freeze melon! See, I learned something today. I did learn last year that you can freeze whole tomatoes. I didn't peel, blanch or anything. They were fine.

well the thing with using nylons for a melon bra is that it will stretch as the melon grows....
